Crude steel output up 3% at 6.76 mt in H1: SAIL

SAIL has registered a 3% rise in crude steel output in the months from April to September of the current fiscal over the corresponding period last year. The hot metal production witnessed a 3.3% growth at 7.17 mt as against 6.88 mt, SAIL said in a statement. Production of saleable steel was marginally up by 1.55% at 6.19 mt as against 6.10 mt.

Crude steel production grew to 6.76 million tonnes as against 6.57 million tonnes in the same period previous year. SAIL also informed that improved techno-economic parameters in the first half of current fiscal supported the growth trend.
