Eurocopter, the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer, organised the first EC225 demo flight in Juhu airport in Mumbai. Eurocopter used this opportunity to introduce in India the latest and the most state-of-the art helicopter currently being used by leading global Oil & Gas sector players, around the world. The EC225 is recognised in the world to be the civil highest performer helicopter, flying faster, further and safer than any other helicopter. Since its introduction on the market in 2004, the EC225 has become the reference helicopter for long range or deep water offshore operation, the most demanding and exigent helicopter mission.
It is the biggest helicopter of Eurocopter range (11 tonns class, 19 to 24 passengers’ seats) that belongs to the famous Super Puma / Cougar family. Over 800 units of this family, with total flight time in excess of 4,000,000 flight hours have been delivered to date.
“The oil and gas industry has been growing steadily and is expected to be a huge economic growth driver in India in the years to come. Helicopters represent a crucial element in the industry expansion process with already 15% of India’s helicopter fleet deployed in the oil and gas sector.
