K S Jamestin has taken charge as Director Human Resources, ONGC. He has over three and a half decades of multifaceted experience in Human resource development, Project management, business development, operation and maintenance of oil field installations, engineering, design and instrumentation.
He is a B. Tech in Engineering, with an MBA in Finance, and Diplomas in Operations Management and a Senior Executive program with Indian School of Business. He is also a certified Project manager from PMI, USA.

He started his career in ONGC in 1977 as a Graduate Trainee, and has since worked in most Work Centres of ONGC like Mumbai Offshore, Assam, Southern Sector, Dehradun and at Corporate Headquarters.

One of the most credible achievements Jamestin is associated with is Project ICE, the largest SAP project in Asia, where he rolled out SAP, within budget and right on schedule, across all functions and locations of ONGC, through an international award winning initiative. For this, he was conferred CMD’s special appreciation award, given so only to 3 exceptional performers, in ONGC history.

During his stint as Chief HRD, he took initiative for large scale recruitments. He ushered in an era of efficiency by on line computerization of processes like transfers, promotions, recruitments, selection examinations for new entrants etc. The very successful online Performance Appraisal System (EPAR) and the Employee Self Service Portal, SAMPARC are Jamestin’s brainchild projects. He is also credited for introducing the new sports policy of ONGC.

Project Management is one of his strong points. He was the chief architect of the Rs. 850 crore PROMISE project, and most of the other IT projects of ONGC.
With his management training in Finance, established empathy towards employee issues, wide spanning exposure and experience over 34 years in all walks of ONGC’s activities like Offshore & Onshore, HRD and Employee Relations, IR and Project Management, Jamestin would steer HR functions on the board of ONGC.
