Six projects of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) have bagged the prestigious National Awards for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector instituted by the Government of India for the year 2009-10 & 2010-11.

POWERGRID received three Gold Shields and two Silver Shields for Transmission System Availability and one Silver Shield for Early Completion of Transmission Project.
Sushilkumar Shinde, Minister of Power presented the awards to RN Nayak, CMD, POWERGRID and Executive Directors of the respective Regions at a function held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Power KC Venugopal, P Uma Shankar, Secretary (Power) and other senior officers were present.
