S Thiagarajan, director-finance, NMDC was recently honoured as the ‘Icon of the Accounting Profession’ at an event organized by the Institute of Public Enterprises during the Management Development Programme on Applied Financial Management. He was honoured for his multifarious achievements and has been recognized for his entrepreneurial zeal in the process of setting up of NMDC Steel Plant and also the acquisition of Legacy Iron Ore Mine by NMDC in Australia.

He was also conferred with achievers and leaders award (finance) for his achievements and exemplary leadership skills.
