The opening bell ceremony for the listing of KIOCL share at National Stock Exchange (NSE) was held on 2 December, 2016 at Mumbai to mark the commencement of trading of KIOCL’s equity share at NSE platform.

The programme was attended by the officials of National Stock Exchange, Institutional Investors, Bankers, besides representatives from the print and visual media. Shri Malay Chatterjee, CMD, KIOCL Ltd, Shri MV Subba Rao, Director (Commercial) & Shri N. Vidyananda, Director (Production & Project) and Shri SK Gorai, Finance (Director), along with other officials participated in the event.

CMD, Sri Malay Chatterjee, briefed the audience about the current status of the Company and the various ongoing initiatives taken including the growth prospects and investment plans in the Greenfield / Brownfield Projects.

Shri Chatterjee also informed that the equity shares of the Company are admitted & listed at National Stock Exchange for trading since 29-11-2016 and expected to become bullish with the aftermath of the bell ceremony due to huge potential and growth plan of the category-I Mini-ratna CPSU KIOCL Ltd.

Sri Swapan Kumar Gorai, New Director (Finance)

Sri Swapan Kumar Gorai has joined KIOCL as Director (Finance) on 11 November, 2016 at Corporate office, Bangalore. He is a Chartered Accountant and has a Masters degree in Business Management (Finance). He has a vast multi-cultural experience of 28 years including 12 years in top-level management and strategy formulation in a number of large/MNC companies. During his rich and varied experience, he has held various positions as General Manager (Commercial) in Foster Wheeler India Private Limited, General Manager (F&A) in Kazstroyservices Infastructure India Pvt Ltd., General Manager (F&A) in Punjlloyd Limited (Tripoli – Libya/Gurgaon- India) etc. Sri Swapan Kumar has a wide exposure to Fund Raising, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Fund Management, Procurements, Bid Evaluation & Price Negotiation of EPC/LSTK projects, Contract management, ERP Implementation, Human Resource issues, IT Infrastructure management. During his career, he has worked / visited in a number of countries namely Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sudan, UAE, Libya, Thailand, USA, KSA and Sierra Leone.

Prior to joining KIOCL, Sri SK Gorai was working as Group General Manager (F&A) in Telecommunications Consultants India Limited.

Hindi Salahkar Samiti Meeting

In recognition of the activities in the implementation of official language policy for the year 2015-16, KIOCL Limited was awarded Ispat Rajbhasha Trophy for the “C” region. Shri Malay Chatterjee, CMD, received Ispat Rajbhasha Trophy from Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel and Mines, Government of India Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, on 19.11.2016 at Magnolia Hall India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on the eve of Hindi Salahkar Samiti meeting. The organisations which come under steel ministry participated in the meeting. Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel and Mines appreciated the efforts of the steel companies in the implementation of the official language policy of the union.

Hon’ble Steel Minister lunched the revamped website of KIOCL

Hon’ble Steel Minister Shri Chaudhary Birender Singh, launched the newly-revamped website of KIOCL Limited at New Delhi on 25.11.2016 in presence of Dr. Aruna Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, GoI, Shri Malay Chatterjee, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, KIOCL Ltd. and officials of the Steel Ministry.

In order to meet today’s requirement, KIOCL in-house team has developed a vibrant new look corporate website with an improved and structured layout, intuitive design which auto optimizes across browsers & devices and a simple navigation with easy to locate information. Another major change is the integration of social media, which allows easily sharing of interesting content by Twitter, Facebook and You Tube.

Hon’ble Steel Minister commended the effort of KIOCL team for changing with time to cope up with the technology. KIOCL’s “Horse’s Mouth” Journal for the third quarter was also released by Hon’ble Minister on the occasion.

Vigilance Awareness Week 2016

KIOCL observed “Vigilance Awareness Week’’ with pledge taking on 31 October, 2016 at all the locations / offices. Essay and Elocution Completions were conducted for the employees and school children on Vigilance Awareness during the week on the theme “Public participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating of Corruption.”
Shri. Pronab Mohanty, IPS, was the guest of honour for the function held in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week at Bangalore on 5 November, 2016 and Shri. Malay Chatterjee, CMD, presided over the function. Shri. Pronab Mohanthy stressed upon the importance of Public participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption. Shri. Malay Chatterjee highlighted the need for creating public awareness so as to sensitize the public about the consequences of corruption. He also called upon all employees to make efforts to move towards corruption-free society.
