AR Ansari has been appointed the new chairman and managing director of mining giant Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd (NLC). He was earlier the director-projects and planning.
Under his leadership the company attained great heights and expanded its activities to other states like Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. During his tenure, Ansari introduced various high-tech schemes which enabled the company to save time and cut costs by procuring material online. Born in an agricultural family, Ansari earned laurels for his work as a mining engineer before being elevated to the post of the CMD of the company.
His focus is mainly to promote ecological activities, environmental control, water conservation, and welfare measures like sports, education and peripheral development of surrounding villages, rehabilitation and research and development activities.

CMD NTPC honoured
RS Sharma, chairman and managing director, NTPC has been elected as fellow in the ‘World Academy of Productive Science’ by virtue of significant and long lasting contributions to the improvement of quality, quality of work, quality of work life, quality of life and productivity. The honour was bestowed on him at the conference of World confederation of Productivity Science in New Delhi recently.
