ONGC CMD CONFERRED OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Sudhir Vasudeva, CMD, ONGC was conferred the award of 'Outstanding Achievement in Exploration & Production' for his outstanding service, exemplary leadership and management skills during OceanTex World Expo 2012. While accepting the award, Vasudeva said that even though he had spent thirty six years in the industry he still considered himself as a student and was accepting this award on behalf of 32,809 economic soldiers of ONGC, without whose support the present Maharatna stature of ONGC wouldn't have been possible.
CMD STRESSES NEED FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN BUSINESS PRACTICES
Global Compact Network India, under the dynamic leadership of CMD Sudhir Vasudeva and GCN president convened a half day CEO’s round table on business and human rights. The CEOs from reputed corporates deliberated on the issue of human rights protection by the Indian corporate sector. Vasudeva, during his opening speech, stressed that clearly articulated policies are necessary for a framework for action in this regard. At the end of the session, the CEOs and other senior executives came out with a two year work plan for taking the agenda forward.
ONGC DIRECTOR (HR) ADDRESSES WIPS NATIONAL MEET
K S Jamestin, Director-HR and I/c BD&JV has been conferred the “Leadership & Inspiration Award” by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM). The award has been bestowed in recognition of his impeccable leadership qualities contributing to nation building.
The Award is conferred to super achievers of the Indian industry. Recently, Director-HR has also been awarded the ‘HR Leadership Award’ by the Employer Branding Awards, Singapore in July, 2011 for his innovative leadership and change management approach.
PETROLEUM MINISTER LAUDS ONGC DURING VISIT TO URAN
Petroleum Minister S Jaipal Reddy recently visited ONGC’s Uran plant. He was accompanied by CMD Sudhir Vasudeva, along with senior officers from the Ministry.
He was taken to the Process Control Room which is the nerve centre of the entire plant operations at Uran. While being briefed about the activities and role of the Process Control Room, he had a look at the control systems which are used for monitoring each activity of the plant. He evinced keen interest in its operations and asked wide ranging questions.
Expressing his admiration for ONGC’s efforts, Reddy said : “I am delighted to be at Uran and very well aware of the role which ONGC is playing in ensuring that India’s oil & gas demands are met”.
DK SARRAF FELICITATED
D K Sarraf, MD OVL, was felicitated by the accolade of ‘IPE HR Leadership Award 2012’ in the category ‘CEO with HR orientation’ in an event in Mumbai for his exceptional work and concentrated efforts towards improving the practices in Human Resources in ONGC Videsh Limited.
While receiving the accolade, Sarraf said that “We are in the challenging business of Oil and Gas exploration and exploitation and that too at overseas.Thus, knowledge is important to our business but knowledge doesn’t lie with organizations rather knowledge can only be in people and hence HR is quintessential for every organization”.
He added that he felt deeply honored for being nominated as the winner of the award.
