Natural Resources are the assets of the Nation which are required to be utilized for the development & progress of the country. The minerals found in the nature are to be explored and mined with a proper monitoring system. The statuary guidelines laid down by the government has to be enforced followed with punitive action for non compliance. The Mineral Concession Rules 2016 aims to streamline the process and timelines for grant of concessions, disposal of applications and granting of mining leases. The Mines ministry is closely working with the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space applications and Geo- Informatics (BISAG) under the Department of Communications and IT for developing suitable technology for the platform. The Mining Surveillance System (MSS) will track the mine lease area and will detect even the slightest change in the topography thereby curb illegal mining. Once the process of auctioning of mine allotment starts the private mine owners will play a crucial role in the forth coming days and the stringent rules can surely see that the minerals are explored judiciously without causing environmental hazards.

The steel sector is passing through a very difficult phase due to economic slowdown globally that has shaken the steel sector. The issue of dumping by China has been reacted swiftly by the government by imposing minimum import price (MIP) thereby fresh imports will not come. The per capita consumption of steel in India is 60 kgs and the global average is 225 kgs. The budget has focused on infrastructure such as national highways, bridges, railways etc that will boost demand for steel.
