Environment concerns

NCL is doing many projects in the field of environment protection. Singh cited the example of areas under northern coalfields, where he said the company’s afforestation efforts have led to favourable climate change, with rainfall increasing as well as temperature levels going down.

Similar efforts can be taken, if NCL is allowed to mine areas with shrubs, which are presently classified as forests and awaiting the forest clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment and .

Presently, the company is busy upgrading its older equipment and installing many new equipment for its coal handling plants, concluded Singh.
